Back us up on this one: 2013 is the year the Philippines officially became a preferred tourist destination of NBA superstars.

Manila went absolutely bonkers with the arrival of LeBron James last July, which was immediately followed by a James Harden and Eric Gordon appearance a mere two days later. Derrick Rose meanwhile is set to host a 3-on-3 streetball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum this September, while Dwight Howard and the Houston Rockets will square off against Paul George and the Indiana Pacers for an NBA pre-season game at the SM Mall of Asia Arena come October. Even Asia's finest ballers joined in on the trend, courtesy of this year's FIBA Asia Championship. Hebigats, di ba?

But first things first: We're less than a week away from Kobe Bryant's much-anticipated Manila comeback! Press play on the video below to see Kobe's message for his Filipino fans:

The Lakers star, which will hit the country this August 12 to be formally announced as Lenovo Mobile's newest endorser, has yet to reveal where he plans to go during his stay, but word has it that going to different Lenovo stores all over Metro Manila will be part of Kobe's itinerary.

Don't you worry; we know y'all want to take part as badly as we do. And because we're bros like that, we'll hook you up with all the details as soon we get 'em. Sabi nga ni Kobe: "Walang iwanan!"
