Someone must've gotten their order wrong as authorities in Guangzhou, China forcibly took Ronald McDonald in custody.
A statue of him, that is.
Photos of the said "arrest" have gone viral in social media, showing urban management officers, identified as "Chengguan," literally tearing the cordial clown apart from its base, leaving only its iconic oversized red shoes behind, as horrified shoppers and passersby watched.
Apparently, the statue was seized after being deemed an obstruction to pedestrians.
"We've asked them to remove the Ronald McDonald statue from the sidewalk several times but they have refused to operate," a city official said as quoted by the New York Post. "If the McDonald's staff admit their violation and accept the punishment, they can have their statue back."
Unsurprisingly, jokes about who really is behind the warrant have been thrown in comment sections and discussion boards, with netizens bringing up the name of a certain Col. Sanders.
