The summer season is almost over, Holy Week and #LaBoracay seemed like ages ago, and our wallets and pockets are no more, which means we've officially ran out of excuses to head to the beach. Here's the thing though: We're still itching for a vacation, and we know you share our sentiment!

But you know what, screw Boracay. We can always settle for the next best thing. We're talking about the swimming pools that are up to par with the bestest beaches in the country. And guess what, they're all right here in the metro!

Sounds good? Scroll down to see our guide to the most awesome pools in Metro Manila!

Cobo Pavillion

12 Mt. Wilson St., Mountainview Village, New Marikini Subdivision, San Roque, Marikina City

Between you and us, Marikina has some of the most beautiful resorts in the city. The garden pool in Cobo Pavillion comes to mind—it's surrounded by a sizeable ballroom, a red-tiled patio, a small bridge with a pond, a Jacuzzi for kids, and a hidden spot with a fantastic view of the entire place. Here's the best part: You can bring as many as 30 people in there! Did somebody say pool party?

Damage: P7,000 for exclusive use of the facilities (daytime), P9,000 (night time)

Sofitel Manila

CCP Complex, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City

Sofitel is the only resort hotel in Metro Manila that has an exquisite lagoon-shaped pool. Its turquoise-colored waters are complemented by the hotel's tropical gardens and palm trees, and the sun beds situated right beside the pool are as comfy as any other. We're telling you—laying on it will make you feel like you didn't miss out on Laboracay at all. Heck, add a few bikini girls and this may even be better!

Ace Water Spa

United St. corner Brixton St., Barangay Kapitolyo, Pasig City

Our colleagues at Spot.ph said it best: "Ace Water Spa isn't just a pool...it's an indoor water theme park." There are a variety of pools to choose from: the lap pool for swim practice, the hydrotherapy bubble pool for curing your body ache, the heated pools for those who despise cold baths, a kiddie pool area with fun add-ons, and more.

One caveat though: We're pretty sure you're not allowed to get wasted here—they have very strict policies on what you can and cannot do and wear—but if you're merely looking to slow it down and unwind, you've come to the right place.

One Pacific Place Serviced Residences

161 H.V. Dela Costa St., Salcedo Village, Makati City

One Pacific Place's 25-meter lap pool is located on the sixth floor of the building, with a depth of five feet. The girls of Cosmo.ph are also vouching for this pool because of its romantic setting, and we totally agree. The sunset does look very dreamy from here!
