Remember that time a swimming pool—a full-sized one—was discovered inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP)? Well, this time around the discoveries yielded by a new raid weren’t so shocking.

Authorities were able to confiscate bladed weapons, mobile phones, computers, and TV sets during the 23rd raid conducted inside the infamous national prison, GMA News reported.

There was also no sex toys found this time. However, spiders were also recovered—inmates make the eight-legged critters battle each other to pass the time and to place bets on.

According to the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), they raided two buildings, including one located at the medium security compound and the NBP's Reception and Diagnostic Center.

BuCor Chief Rainier Cruz III said the inmates carved the insides of books to house the illegal items, making them look inconspicuous.

Even the Holy Bible wasn’t spared from the desire of the inmates to conceal their illegal items.

Cruz said they have already established a committee on inventory that will ensure the proper disposal of confiscated goods so they don't find their way back to the inmates' cells.

Despite the numerous raids, lawmakers are still dumbfounded by how the inmates continue to get illegal stuff supposedly without NBP officials knowing.

Previously seized from the NBP were iPhones, signal boosters and jammers, beer, sex toys, sex pills, an aquarium, and some pets including a Civet cat and Shih Tzu dogs with puppies.
