As y'all might know by now, FHM is addicted to YouTube. We're not ashamed of it—company memos condemning "time and bandwidth wasting activites" be damned! Heck, it's because of YouTube that we spotted stories like this and this.
But, from time to time, we also search for videos that aren't of the kalokohan kind. In particular, we look for "touching vids" (not tsanting related, you pervs, but those that can make you go Aaawww"). This year, FHM awards the tagos sa pusong video honor to Coca-Cola’s The OFW Project campaign.
A digital offering from McCann Worldgroup Philippines and Coca-Cola, the video entitled "Coca-Cola: Where will Happiness Strike Next? The OFW Project" also won the Platinum prize at the 2012 Digital Media Asia Awards in Beijing, China. It bested over 600 competing entries from China, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, Korea, and Australia. The recognition certainly makes our country da man in the digital marketing industry.
What's prize-winning about it? Well, it shows three OFWs being given the chance to spend an unexpected Christmas with their family back in the Philippines. Anyone with OFW relatives know how makabagbag damdamin that could be. The ending, accordingly, relates to our idea of a perfect Pinoy Christmas—a sumptuous feast for the whole family.
