The Philippine National Police (PNP) is searching for the man caught on video posing as a cop and violently threatening another motorist during a road altercation.

PNP Spokesman Chief Supt. Wilben Mayor, who revealed the identity of the suspect, said the man was only pretending to be part of the police force based on their records, the Inquirer reported.

"According to the PNP Directorate for Personnel, the man named Gaylord Santos does not have any record as a police officer," he said.

Santos was identified as a civilian who resides in Las Piñas City.

Mayor said they will be filing usurpation of authority and other charges against the suspect for the improper use of the PNP uniform.

In the video, Santos, who was wearing a PNP shirt, was shown getting off his vehicle and cursing a motorcyclist near Rizal Park in Manila.

He then slapped the rider and boarded his vehicle just to pull over the corner and continue verbally abusing the rider.
