Many, many girls will never get a chance to live out one of their fantasies, courtesy of a new-fangled rule that will rock the fun-loving, happy-go-lucky vacationers of Boracay: from now on, sex on the beach is strictly prohibited.
Boracay authorities are threatening to implement the said rule rule after a broadcast news team caught on camera two foreigner couples publicly doing the deed during a New Year’s Day party, Yahoo Philippines reports.
One couple was allegedly caught having sex on the beach, while another was seen making out without any clothes on.
Blame this ruling on a couple of peeping toms with gizmos, or maybe these couples just took the John Legend song “PDA” to heart.
According to John Yap, the Mayor of Malay town, which has jurisdiction over Boracay, the rule was made to make sure that tourists would not be scandalized.
He does so for the sake of the beaches of Boracay, which draws over 650,000 tourists every year.
Domingo Enerio III, Department of Tourism’s Assistant Secretary for Planning and Promotions, also advised hotel owners and establishments in Boracay to post signs and warnings on the beach.
"The DOT is opposed to sex tourism. We don't want sex tours to be allowed to come to the Philippines,” Enerio III adds, as reported by abs-cbnnews.com.
While prohibiting these deeds sure is easier said than done, the mayor reiterates that couples who will be caught breaking the rule will be arrested for public scandal. A side thought: An FHM shoot on the beaches of Bora does not constitute the grounds for public scandal, does it?
It sure makes a lot of sense, but still, a bummer. Not to give anyone any ideas, but we’re getting a hunch this ruling will result to us receiving a much more intense batch of Ladies’ Confessions soon. That is, if any girl would dare.
