The short video, which was shared by MMDA Chairman Danny Lim himself, showed the bus driver running in circles while hitting the constables like a boxer. He also taunted them, telling them not to run.
According to reports, the street brawl started when the MMDA officers refused to spare the driver and his conductor from a violation after they allowed some passengers to get off at an area which was clearly marked a “no unloading zone.”
In their defense, both argued that the passengers who got off were a senior citizen and some children. But the MMDA officers had none of it and still issued the violation ticket, which sparked the fight.
The bus driver and the conductor identified as Eddie Magangcong and Kim Lester Padilla of MMBC bus line have been arrested by authorities and are currently detained at Quezon City Police District Station 7.
They have already apologized for their actions, but the MMDA is bent on pressing charges of direct assault and disobedience to persons in authority against them.
