It’s official: The NBA will be coming to Manila to play its first-ever NBA pre-season game in the Philippines at the Mall of Asia Arena on October 10, 2013!

SM and the NBA have agreed on a partnership that’ll bring to our shore the Indiana Pacers and the Houston Rockets. It will also mark the first-ever NBA pre-season game in South East Asia as the league tries to continue its growth on the global stage. Starting at our basketball-crazy country is the best great idea they've ever had since the Slam Dunk Challenge (or not, but you get the point).

Here's NBA Commissioner David Stern sharing the good news:

Basketball junkies will surely go mofos as they will finally get the chance to experience a real NBA game as the Houston Rockets, led by All-Star James "The Bearded One" Harden and Jeremy "Linsanity" Lin, face-off with an young and athletic players like All-Star Paul George, David West, Roy Hibbert, and the rest of the Indiana Pacers come October 10.

The teams' corresponding mascots will also be there to amped up the fans more and, of course, they'll also be flying in the teams' respective cheerleaders, giving the MOA Arena a total NBA feel.

Hans Sy of SM Prime Holdings Inc. admitted that the original plan was to bring an NBA regular season game to the county, but problems with the scheduling and logistics destroyed that idea. So they went for the next option available.

Now, just so you have an idea what the MOA Arena may look like come October 10, here are some snappy teasers:

That's the MOA Arena jumbotron all set and ready for the BIG event

That's (obviously) the Houston Rockets' logo on the arena's hardcourt

Which logo fits the MOA wooden hardcourt more?
