We've seen photos of the old Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA)...

It was once a clear freeway, as you can see, and not the hellish and maddening nightmare we deal with daily today.

And while there are a number of glaring factors to blame for the congestion of Metro Manila's main thoroughfare (e.g. a glut of vehicles, traffic mismanagement, unruly motorists), it seems the government is still scrambling for answers to untangle the eternal gridlock that is EDSA.

But maybe the real reason is this...

Facebook user Jethro Trogo recently shared what he claims is the origin of the traffic that has become a part of almost everyone's lives. The post, which has already been shared 975 times and garnered 4,700 likes as of this writing, has also elicited mostly positive reactions for its author's ingenuity.

See the "Alamat ng EDSA" for yourself:

With the situation not looking like it will ease up anytime soon, might as well just have fun with it, right?
