It's Chinese New Year on Monday, February 8, which means we've got a long weekend up ahead.

Rather than resting your lazy asses home, why don't you celebrate with our Chinese brothers? No, we aren't trying to tell you to ask manang to cook pancit, tikoy, and dumplings (although those aren't a bad idea). What we're trying to tell you is to have fun outside your house.

Below are five awesome ideas you might want to consider!

1) 10th Spring Film Festizal

WHEN: Now until February 7, 2:30 PM

WHERE: Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong

WHAT'S UP: Usher in the (Chinese) New Year with stories of hugot and comedy in the latest edition of the Chinese Spring Film Festival. To name a few of the movies you can see: Lost in Thailand, East Wind Rain and Qui Xi.

Admission is free.

2) Good Life Flavors of Fortune

WHEN: February 5 to 8

WHERE: Trinoma Activity Center

WHAT'S UP: A fun day of eating, cooking, and experiencing Chinese folks' traditions. You'll get to taste the culinary feast, enjoy activities in the Chinoy Activity Strip, learn Chinese cuisine from cooking demos, and watch traditional dragon and lion dance performances.

Entrance is P199.

3) Thank You, David Bowie!

WHEN: February 8, 9:00 PM

WHERE: 12 Monkeys Music Hall & Pub, 5/F Century City Mall, Kalayaan Avenue, Makati City

WHAT'S UP: As a tribute to the legendary musician who passed away on January 10, Ely Buendia, The Blue Jean Junkies, The Late Isabel, Julz Savard, and Francis Brew Reyes will perform together in one show. You shouldn't miss this!

Door charge is P350.

4) Non-Stop Sunday

WHEN: February 7, 8:00 p.m.

WHERE: Level VIP Club, 50 Tomas Morato, Quezon City

WHAT'S UP: If you happen to be around QC this Sunday, it would be a damn shame if you can't drop by Level VIP Club. DJ Spoiled and DJ Mike Lacson are going to be there to bring madness and chaos to your evening.

Entrance is free.

5) Nike Women Victory Tour

WHEN: Registration is on-going

WHERE: Register by clicking here

WHAT'S UP: Just in case your girlfriend is into fitness, inform her that there's going to be an all-women race to be staged at the Cavitex on May 15—and that you can sign her up for it now!

Registration fee is P2,700 per pair, payable via credit card or PayPal.
