Capoeira Angola Workshops
If you really want to get the blood flowing, why not try a new way to move?
From September 29 to October 3, the 1st Capoeira Angola Living Experience in Manila happens at Arts in Taguig City Studio, 26th Street corner 7th Street, Bonifacio Global City.
Hosted by the Capoeira Angola Manila Study Group, participants will get to learn Capoeira Angola, which is an African-Brazilian art form that rhythmically mixes dance and martial arts. It is set to music and dancing, which makes it very dynamic and fun.
Mestre Roxinho of the Escola de Capoeira Angola Mato Rasteiro will be teaching at the workshop, which will feature a diverse array of topics consisting of music, instrument and movement classes, instrument making, singing, berimbau rhythms, discussions and Rodas. The 1st Capoeira Angola Living Experience in Manila is open to people of all ages and abilities.

Over at Route 196 in Katipunan meanwhile: Friday night takes you back to the 90s as What’s Your Glitch: A 90s Night happens with Abby Asistio, Katinig, Playphonics, Out of Body Special,The Google Dolls, and Us-2 Evil-0.
Saturday is just as rocking as Goo Goo G'Joob happens featuring Inky De Dios, DeLara, Malay, Mayonnaise, Reklamo, and TOI.
For those looking for something noisier and heavier on a Friday night, your destination is 19 East in Paranaque where Urbandub is set to play. Also in Paranaque is Al’s Bar, where Mayo Baluyut, Wilderness, Twin Lobster, Fuseboxx, Humanfolk, and Mammals will play on Friday as well.
Saturday, likewise, features a decidedly indie roster as well, as The Haneps, Gin, Rum, & Truth, Mighty Man, Betterfiller, and Rooster Club treat you to some good music.
Art Flood 2010
From October 1 to October 3, 1 to 8 p.m., Silverlens Gallery in Makati brings you Art Flood 2010. The said event is the perfect place for art lovers everywhere to buy some great art, or to window-shop at the very least. It’s for a good cause too because part of the proceeds of this art collectors’ sale will be for the benefit of the rehabilitation of the Pasig River by Kapit Bisig Para sa Ilog Pasig (KBPIP).
First organized last year in the wake of Typhoon Ondoy, this art sale’s beneficiary is the Philippine National Red Cross-Rizal Chapter (Makati Branch). Check out the artworks for sale by visiting www.silverlensphoto.com.

Looking for a musical experience that’s different from the usual band offering? On October 2, Musikapella V happens, from 4 to 9pm. It feature the young voices of high school chorale groups at Musikapella V.
