Wilson Sporting Goods, in partnership with Finnish tech firm SportIQ, recently revealed that they're coming up with a new smartphone app-enabled Smart Basketball that’s due for release later this year.
The ball will have performance-tracking sensors inside it which will allow users to connect it to their smartphone app. Once the basketball and the app are connected, it'll start to monitor your true shooting percentage, accuracy, make or miss detection, and heat zones. Just imagine yourself having a shooting coach ala-Siri.
The intelligent basketball, along with its app, promises to revolutionize the way cagers practice and hone their shooting skills and performance. It’ll also help you realize why your teammates always tell you to never shoot the three-ball.
