Despite repeated warnings against making bomb jokes in public, a woman from Caloocan City still went ahead and decided to clown around at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Nancy Ebata was apprehended by airport authorities on Tuesday after she dropped the bomb joke when asked whether there was anything fragile in her luggage, the Inquirer reported.

“Just my friend’s trinkets. There’s also a bomb! Joke, joke, joke!” she said.

Due to this, the 27-year-old Ebata, who was bound for Haneda, Japan, was instead detained by the Aviation Security Unit National Capital Region.

She was charged for violating Presidential Decree 1727 or the Anti-Bomb Joke Law and faces imprisonment of up to five years and a P40,000 fine.

Last month, a cellphone technician was also apprehended after making a bomb joke at the Metro Rail Transit Line 3.
