ASEAN Welcome Tarpaulin Misspells 'Philippines' (And Netizens Are Rightfully Embarrassed)

The 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit officially starts today. World leaders, diplomats, and other important figureheads are set to attend Southeast Asia's biggest event this 2017, which the Philippines is hosting.

The country has been busy preparing for the much-awaited summit, with anticipation brewing months before the actual date. One major part of the preparations are the welcome tarpaulins that are mounted all over Metro Manila.

However, netizens couldn't help but notice that there’s something wrong with the printed banners.


The people who prepared said tarpaulins misspelled the name of our country.

Of course, concerned citizens are not having any of this embarrassing blunder.
