Every Mother's Day, we get an excuse to express how much we love our moms. We send out flowers, chocolates, or post cheesy but sweet messages on Instagram or Facebook.

Normally, some men are embarrassed to admit that they are mama's boys!

However, these five male celebrities gamely opened up about the advantage of growing up close to their moms.

Let's take a look at their stories and how proud they are to be called a mommy's boy.

1) Diego Loyzaga

What can you say about being a mommy’s boy?
I’m a proud Mama’s Boy. Other people might be shy to say this but I’m not. I’m really proud to say that my momma raised me.

What’s your fondest mother and son bonding moment?
Fondest right now because it was just recently, we travelled, my brother, mother and I, to Europe and it was a trip that we’ll probably not be able to do anymore. Just the three of us together to a place that Mama really wanted to go to since she was a kid. It made her really happy and that makes me, us, happy.

What do you think is the advantage of growing up close to your mom?
I think I could say that honestly because it was a woman who raised me, I, in many ways have the same traits as the woman who raised me. And I could say that alone is the biggest advantage.

Greatest lesson taught to you by mom?
She taught me how to live life. How to live a happy life, a fulfilling life. One that you can be happy but also how to be respectful to people around you. How to look for the silver lining even when life has dark times. How to be an inspiration even when at times, you, yourself are no longer inspired. Mom went through things for us (my brother and I) that made her the strong woman she is today. She taught me what true happiness is. Love.

Any message for your mom?
I don’t think I have to make this a long message. I love you, mom. Know that I am grateful for you. Happy mother’s day!

2) Mikael Daez

What can you say about being a mommy’s boy?
I’m not really a mommy’s boy, no, but I take care of my mom a lot. I try to teach her how to travel and how to be free, although she’s having a hard time with… yeah, that’s all I can say about that.

What can you say about being a mommy’s boy?
Real men aren’t afraid to show their love for their mother.

The times when I drive her to work when I’m on vacation in Guam. It’s just me and her making plans for the day.

4) Jak Roberto

What can you say about being a mommy’s boy?
There's nothing wrong being a mommy's boy. It shows lang na mahal ka ng mommy mo at nagki-care siya sa ‘yo. Tag lang naman ang mommy's boy, what's important, e, yung love na binibigay niya sa ‘yo.

What’s your fondest mother and son bonding moment?
When my mom cooks for me lalo na kapag may special occasion.  I still remember noong pinagluto niya ako ng spaghetti dati.

What do you think is the advantage of growing up close to your mom?
The advantage is you'll get to learn many things from her. Tuturuan ka niya ng maraming klase  ng pagluluto which I like kasi food lover ako.

Greatest lesson taught to you by mom?
The greatest lesson I learned from her is humility. Kahit ano mang maabot mo, always look back to the people who helped you before.

Any message for your mom?
Mom, I know di tayo nagkakasama ng madalas but still, you’re always here in my heart. Whatever I achieve right now, para sa ‘yo lahat ng ito.

5) JM De Guzman

What can you say about being a mommy’s boy?

What’s your fondest mother and son bonding moment?
Pag nag-V-VTR kami noong bata ako, six years old ako, nagbu-bus kami, papakainin niya ako ng corn, tapos pipila kami ng auditions ng mga isang daang nag-au-audition, buong araw yun. Siya talaga 'yong lagi kong kasama.

What do you think is the advantage of growing up close to your mom?

Greatest lesson taught to you by mom?
Huwag sumuko. Kasi mas marami pang pinagdaanan sa akin 'yon, mas mahirap pa pero gano'n pa rin siya.

Any message for your mom?
I love you, stay strong, I’m always here for you kahit anong mangyari. Labyu!
