Even if the cool breeze of December is here, we know the sound of waves and the view of crystal clear waters are something that are hard to resist. Just like the other half of FHM December 2017 cover, Angel Yap, a quick escapade to see the sun, sand, and sea is always a good idea.
Now that you have the extra money, why not treat yourself to that much-needed beach getaway? In case you have no plans yet, take a cue on this sultry cover girl, as she takes you on a virtual tour of some of her favorite spots (thanks Instagram!) around the country. Follow her lead and book that bus!
1) Sta. Lucia, Ilocos Sur
Angel says: "This place is memorable for me kasi aside sa ginawa naming photoshoot yung vacation namin sa beach since walang ka-tao tao, buong stay namin we get to experience a normal province life. We cooked our own food, sa papag kami natulog. It's fun to try new things! We got to visit Vigan, too. Although it's far, it's definitely worth it!"
An Ilocos trip is a mix of activities and stops that will surely keep you on your toes and totally looking forward to the next day of vacation. After sightseeing and touring, fill your tummy with Ilocano specialties like bagnet, longganisa, and pinakbet—now, you’ve got yourself a complete and very tasty meal that can only be completed by a cup or two of rice. Also, don't forget the empanada with suka!
Tip: Make the most out of your North adventure by visiting Vigan, Laoag, and Pagudpud—the unbeatable Ilocos trio!
2) Coron, Palawan
Angel says: "So far my most favorite of all the destinations I've been to. Ang clear ng water, ang white ng sand, ang ganda ng corals and the best part: TAHIMIK. Nung pumunta ako rito, super nagkaroon ako ng peace of mind. Mas naappreciate ko yung nature na grabe sobrang ganda talaga pala ng Pinas. Nagkaroon ako ng ganong moment. I suggest that you go there with your family."
Head out to Coron and explore the gorgeous islands around the area, dive into the cool waters, and interact with vibrant marine life. Palawan is definitely a must-see destination if you want to take a break and enjoy quality time with loved ones and with nature. Heck, it wouldn’t be named as the world's second Best Island for nothing.
Tip: Take a boat ride to Sanglat Island and see the mysterious Sunken Japanese Wrecks. Destroyed during WWII, these battleships are now home to a kaleidoscope of sea creatures that you can clearly see even from the surface. You’ll be amazed at the sight of schools of fish turning and swimming their way around this natural playground. Ready you cameras!
3) Boracay, Aklan
Angel says: "Aside sa super ganda ng Boracay from morning 'til dawn, may night life so sulit yung punta ko run palagi. There's no time to sleep when you're there so my tip is to go there with your barkada if you're single or your partner to have some quality time (or should I say walwal time? Ha-ha!)."
Picture-perfect (Just like Angel’s IG snaps) vacations await those who set foot on the white sand beaches of Boracay. Beachfront hotels around the island abound for those who want a sun-kissed vacation, while activities like sailing, wind surfing, jet skiing, and diving are also available to water sports enthusiasts. When the sun sets, Boracay becomes a bustling hub for partygoers who hop around the beach’s wide array of bars and restaurants.
Tip: If you’re craving for some R&R, you can find respite at Boracay’s massage stations and spas, which are located right at the beach. Find a spot and take a snooze while expert hands caress your weary bod.
