Fine, we’ll admit it: Our favorite time of the year is the summer season. It’s because during this period, we get a legit excuse—we meant, reason—to head to the beach, bring a future cover girl along, and just, bond over booze while interviewing our muse for her FHM appearance. Ah, the memories!
Boracay was a favorite spot for FHM staffers once upon a time, and some ladies were even lucky enough to do their FHM cover shoots on the pristine shores of this paradise getaway. And coincidentally, most of these covers were shot by one of FHM's favorite photographers, Doc Marlon Pecjo (we miss ya, Doc!).
Now that Boracay is taking a rest, we can’t help but look back at some of the fun memories we made on the island. So which stars flaunted their bikini bods best? Check out the #ThrowbackFHMBoracay gallery below.
First on the list is the smoldering Phoemela Baranda. In a red two-piece bikini, then 24-year-old Phoem made her sizzling FHM debut and solidified her stature as one of the country’s hottest supermodels.
Jackie Rice is no stranger to the pages of FHM. The Kapuso star is a three-time cover girl (the latest was with the Bubble Gang girls last November 2017), a regular in our 100 Sexiest Women list, and even an international FHM muse (remember her FHM Indonesia 2010 stint?). If you ask us, though, her first cover (FHM January 2010) shot in Boracay is still our favorite.
We made sure our Boracay trip in 2011 was worth it, so we got Rich Asuncion to come with us for her much-awaited FHM debut. True enough, the StarStruck alumna and beauty queen was a vision of perfection in blue.
Boracay was also the venue for the stunning Stef Prescott’s FHM cover. For this StarStruck alumna's layouts, we chose to use the sleek hotel rooms we were staying in for an event. We're scrappy like that.
FHM’s 13th anniversary issue was all about giving the readers a royal treatment, and Empress Schuck fits the bill. The outcome was pretty majestic!
Probably one of the reasons Sam Pinto agreed to posing for us for the third time was the shoot's setting. We mean, who wouldn't want to have the picturesque Boracay beach as their backdrop?
We went all out for the FHM debut of actress Andi Eigenmann. To thank her for accepting our invite, we brought the mermaid to her natural habitat—the beach, of course.
