Face it: We all take style cues from the movies. Cinema happens to be a great venue for pop culture and fashion to rub against each other. That and a lot of movie characters are remembered for their outfits which in turn influence the fashion sense of a generation.

Whether it's James Dean's jeans or Han Solo's waistcoat, good wardrobe design can do a lot to make a scene memorable. But for some movies, it's not the clothes—rather, it's the shoes that made an impact. Lace up for a trip down memory lane and see if you can recall the times these sweet kicks popped up in your favorite movies.

Read on to see the most iconic sneakers in movie history!

Not a lot of things made sense in this movie, but if you were a kid when it came out, you probably remember George of The Jungle. What you may not remember, though, is the scene where George puts on a pair of Air More Uptempos before speeding off into the wilderness. Recall a half-naked, long-haired Brendan Fraser springing across the jungle in those? Scottie Pippen would be disappointed.

2)   Onitsuka Tiger Tai Chi (as seen in
Game of Death and Kill Bill)

Before Wiz Khalifa came along to ruin things, the black-and-yellow combo could only represent two things: the Wu Tang Clan or Bruce Lee in Game of Death. It's one of the most iconic outfits in movie history: a yellow tracksuit with black accents, and the shoes to match. He was wearing the Onitsuka Tiger Tai Chi, which became even more iconic when an ass-kicking Uma Thurman slipped them on for her role as The Bride in Kill Bill.

The Nike Cortez is about as memorable as the three-word sentence, "Run, Forrest, run!" After he received a pair in white and red (to match his Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. hat) as a gift from Jenny, Forrest went on his famous cross-country run in these kicks. The scene was so iconic that Nike released the colorway again earlier this year in premium leather.

4)   Air Jordan IV "White Cement" (as seen in
Do The Right Thing)

If you've ever had your Jordans stepped on by some negligent pedestrian, here's a scene you can relate to. In Spike Lee's Do The Right Thing, a Caucasian passerby in a Larry Bird t-shirt scuffed Buggin' Out's pair of "White Cement" 4s. The proceeding confrontation is something that sneakerheads everywhere will understand.

5)   adidas Zissou (as seen in
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou)

Since everyone's suddenly into Wes Anderson these days, we would be remiss to exclude Steve Zissou's adidas Roms, which were labeled with his name for the movie, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. It isn't just the crisp white leather with tonal blue stripes and yellow laces—it's the quintessential way that he tested them out after first wearing them. It's the classic "dad-fitting-shoes-in-a-department-store" method that we're all familiar with.

6)   Nike Blazer (as seen in
Like Mike)

Lil' Bow Wow is all grown up now, but we all still remember him as the kid from Like Mike—a basketball cult classic. In it, a very young Lil' Bow Wow chances upon a pair of enchanted Nike Blazers that give him Jordan-esque ballin' skills. The movie's plot revolves around that pair of magical shoes, and if you saw the movie as a kid, you probably searched the ukays for a pair of shoes with "MJ" inscribed on them yourself.

When you think of Sin City, you immediately remember the signature color stylization that the movie is best known for: black and white throughout, except for some hits of bright color. One other clever use of color is in Clive Owen's shoes. After rescuing Brittany Murphy from thugs in her apartment, he steps out of her window and leaps from the building in a shot that highlights the shoes he wore: a pair of bright red Chuck Taylors.

8)   Nike Vandal (as seen in
Terminator)

When Kyle Reese arrived from the future, swag seemed to be his first concern. He robs a department store for some clothes, including a pair of Nike Vandals in black and silver. The pair turns out to be such a big part of his outfit that the 2015 installment, Terminator Genisys, asked Nike to reproduce the pair just for the movie.

9)   adidas Ultra Boost (as seen in
Avengers: Age of Ultron)
