We don't know about you, but Pia Wurtzbach's starring debut in the last Metro Manila Film Festival somewhat didn't feel right. No offense to Gandarrapiddo: The Revenger Squad—we just imagined the Miss Universe 2015 taking on a lead role that is faithful to her mantra of being "confidently beautiful with a heart."
The Queen may finally be getting her on-screen due via Cathy Garcia-Molina's romantic comedy My Perfect You, alongside Gerald Anderson. Check out the movie's official trailer featuring the first-time love team that is already oozing with chemistry:
Pia plays Abi, the fireball hostess of Happy Sunshine Camp, where Gerald's scruffy character Burn goes into seclusion after a life-changing heartbreak. Name another female celebrity who has the beauty, bubbliness, and openness to anything to portray an adorably annoying leading lady. It's as if Pia was made for Abi, and vice versa.
She just exudes an aura of authenticity that audiences can easily identify with and draw kilig from. Her naturalness as a headliner compensates for her acting credits, as well as Gerald's shaky Tagalog. Pia also offers something that even rom-com royalties like Jennylyn Mercado and Alessandra De Rossi will have a hard time matching: that queenly grace.
And if these promotional materials can't convince you enough that she is perfect to play the part, then we don't know what else will.
My Perfect You hits theaters on March 14
