The entertainment industry grieves the passing of British actor Alan Rickman. He was 69.
Barely a week after the death of legendary musician David Bowie, the Big C claimed another big name in Rickman, who was known for his role in the Harry Potter movies and Die Hard, aside from a decorated stage career.
Fans and friends from the business, especially his HP colleagues, remembered the man who we've grown to hate and eventually love as the anti-hero Professor Severus Snape:
Potterheads saw the evolution of Rickman's character from being an imposing mentor to an unconditional guardian of the protagonist played by Daniel Radcliffe. Yet, it was Snape's icy demeanor that was forever etched in the minds of the movie franchise's fans.
And because we here at the FHM HQ figured that Rickman himself probably wouldn't want a farewell as somber as his role's disposition, we rummaged for rare footage of him in a less-familiar sunny mood.
Clad in his iconic dark robe and neck-level cut, an image of Professor Snape sporting a smile is unheard of in any of the seven Harry Potter movies—but certainly not behind-the-scenes.
There was that one time when Rickman pulled a prank on an unwitting Radcliffe:
Cameras were lucky to capture the unadulterated off-cam fun between Snape and Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, portrayed by actor Michael Gambon at that time. (Skip to the 1:05 mark)

Apparently, Rickman was quite the jolly dude—far from his character's unfriendly temperament.
Rest now, good sir. Your legacy will live on forever. Wands up!
