If at any point in the past six years, you’ve been so much as interested in purchasing a pair of basketball shoes, then you must know Titan. Hell, you might even be one of the fanatics who queue for hours in front of Titan stores to get your hands on a pair of kicks.
The basketball concept store first opened up shop back in 2010 and has since made a name for itself as the go-to spot for exclusive basketball sneakers and anything basketball-related. They arrived in time for the Philippines to take part in the global rise of sneaker culture—specifically, Titan lead the charge for basketball in a basketball-obsessed country. It’s even been a damn good barbershop, ahead of the whole old-fashioned-barbershop trend that’s going on right now.
Last week, Titan opened up their latest branch in Conrad Manila, an upscale hotel right next to the SM MOA Arena. Conrad has an expansive retail space, in which Titan decided to set up shop alongside a lot of other exciting stores (there are board-ups for sneaker destination Urban Athletics and menswear boutiques Joseph and General PH). “It’s a prime location—a new, hip, premium hotel,” says Miguel Rocha, Titan’s Senior Marketing Manager.
Conrad also marks seven branches for Titan, a sign that they’re not about to slow down soon. This is also their largest boutique yet, with a very spacious allocation for the barbershop up front. If you’d ask us, it’s looking like a great place to launch shoes at.
The launch of Titan Conrad also served to release some new shoes: the Nike Zoom KD9 "Pre-Heat" dropped exclusively at that branch on the day it opened. So did the latest apparel and footwear from BrandBlack—a rising athletic label that Titan has been putting its money on for a while now.
But to really commemorate the new store, Titan popped some Champagne:
They also dropped the Air Jordan 8 "Champagne & Confetti Pack Pack" exclusively at Conrad last Friday. Despite costing P12,145 each, we wouldn’t be surprised if those shoes are sold out by the time you read this.
