An intense sport like volleyball requires all the space and mobility a player can afford to unleash the best dives and spikes.

Same goes with those sweet uniforms and the hair (whether pony tails or braids), which could make a difference in maneuverability. As such, getting a shorter 'do is a common option for volleybelles, so no strand gets in their line of sight and in the way of doing anything they want on the court.

A clean cut can also highlight a female player's most winsome facial features. Some of them aren't Mika Reyes levels in terms of length, but who's complaining?

Majoy Baron (De La Salle Lady Spikers)

The chances of a La Salle three-peat looks as bright as the reigning Most Valuable Player defending her title in her final UAAP tournament. Baron has scored in double figures in all but one of their games, but not without making an impact on the other side of the floor, on her way to being named the first-ever UAAP Press Corps. Player of the Week.

Isa Camama (UE Lady Warriors)

Camama was one of the seven rookies that the Recto-based squad paraded a couple of years ago. the opposite is now on her third year, with batchmates Juliet Catindig, Mary Anne Mendrez, and Seth Marione Rodriguez. Armed with experience and lessons from losing, they will help ace Shaya Adorador prevent another single-win run.

Jessma Ramos (UP Lady Fighting Maroons)

The 5'8" middle blocker from Bacolod was a late-bloomer in the sport. She learned to play when she was 16 as a fourth year high school. Also, it was actually her sibling who applied for the badminton team, whose manager assisted her during the tryout. Which makes it all the more impressive that she's already a solid contributor for UP.

Jema Galanza (Adamson Lady Falcons)

Who would've thought that five months ago, Galanza went down with a horrific injury during the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference? After watching the graduating outside hitter will her team (26 points against the Lady Tamaraws) to their first win of the season, we're convinced that she has accelerated healing factor a la Wolverine and Deadpool.

Ponggay Gaston (Ateneo Lady Eagles)

If it wasn't already obvious, the ADMU opposite sporting a pixie cut is a favorite around these parts. Ponggay shared to ABS-CBN Sports that she wanted to be like Eleven from Strangers Things, adding, "I think that there is more to a woman than her hair. I wanted to make it really semi-kalbo, I wanted it short. But then they wouldn't let me."
