Batman is usually known for working undercover, lurking in the shadows unseen, until he’s about to strike. But recently, there’s one part of the Caped Crusader that’s decided to step into the light for everyone to see—well, a little bit of it at least.

We finally have an answer to the question, "Is Batman circumcised?" His dick (not Grayson!) has debuted on comic pages for the first time in Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo’s Batman: Damned.

Batman: Damned is part of DC's new Black Label imprint which allows comic creators to craft new storylines featuring DC's roster of heroes and villains apart from their official canon, giving writers and artists more freedom and room for creativity.

While many were shocked with Batman's "big reveal", adult-themed comic books are nothing new. With the industry experiencing somewhat of a renaissance as of late, thanks to the attention and push its characters are getting from the movies, creators will naturally and inevitably try to stretch the possibilities of a hero's storyline. And much like in cinema, nudity and adult-themed executions will have its place if it is integral to moving the story forward, and not just there for shock value. That said, we've listed down our favorite adult-themes titles that were brilliantly crafted and succeeded in taking comic books to another, more mature level. Enjoy!

Lost Girls

It may not seem like it, but Lost Girls is one twisted graphic novel. Alice (in Wonderland), Wendy (from Peter Pan), and Dorothy (of Oz) recount their sexual experiences through sick re-imaginings of the stories we know them from. Alan Moore finds a way to ruin your childhood yet again, this time, with the help of some classic art by Melinda Gebbie.

Sex

The title speaks for itself. Veteran comics writer Joe Casey and artist Piotr Kowalksi hold nothing back telling Simon Cooke’s story of just being another (not really) average citizen.

Sin City

This neo-noir thriller is all sorts of bonkers—from the characters, the settings, to how the people are being killed (or fucked). Although it does heavily delve into mature content, it is by no means just a jack-off comic. It’s one of the most notable works of the legendary Frank Miller which has garnered a lot of awards and has been adapted into two feature films.

Sunstone

If you like lesbian sex stories with BDSM, you’re going to love Sunstone. Like any other millennial story, two strangers (both ladies) encounter each other online. After months of flirting, they finally decide to meet and explore their mutual interest in tying people up. It’s got ropes, belts, leather, whips, latex, and everything in between.

Peepland

Mixing crime, sex, violence, and dipping it in neon is what makes Peepland so great. And yes, it is about workers at a peep show and how they get involved in a murder cover-up. Christa Faust and Gary Philips effectively give life to characters that are stereotypically bland and boring.

Sex Criminals

Here us out because this may be the most ingenious sex-related story arc in comic book history. Suzie and Jon find out that they can stop time. Crazy, right? But what sets their story apart is that they do it with their orgasms! Matt Fraction hit the ball out of the park and into another dimension with this one. And Chip Zdarsky accompanies it with some steamy, time-stopping genitalia illustrations.
