If you play DOTA or DOTA2, then you probably see and admire the loading screens as much as you love playing the game. The up close and personal feel of the art makes the characters jump out of the monitor.

The man behind these digital masterpieces is Kunkka, whose real name is Kendrick Lim, an illustrator and concept artist who began his creative journey in Tokyo as a game artist. In 2005, he returned home to Singapore and established Imaginary Friends Studios (IFS). IFS has since become a household name in the entertainment and gaming industry, working with a variety of clients such as Sony Online Entertainment, Ubisoft, and Capcom, just to name a few.

With his signature style, he has garnered fans from the illustration and gaming world, especially because of his artworks for the vastly popular game DOTA.

But these are not the only things he conceptualizes and illustrates. He also shows off his original characters (OC).

He also does a lot of fan art of his favorite shows, movies, and games, reimagining characters in a contemporary pin-up style.

But most recently, redditors have been buzzing about his art on female Filipino superhero Darna, which he announced he will sell prints of at the upcoming AsiaPOP Comicon 2018. As we all know, the lovely Liza Soberano will be playing the titular role in the upcoming film. And we can’t help but imagine Liza’s hero costume as, ehem, cheeky as this.
