Marvel has dropped the second trailer for their upcoming Avengers: Infinity War film in a Super Bowl TV spot and it’s already looking to be a surefire blockbuster for 2018. The whole thing is just 30 seconds long, but it packs in as many superheroes we’ve ever seen in any trailer.
Now that you’ve seen it, here's a quick breakdown of some interesting observations about the new trailer. Check them out below:
A Strange team-up
The trailer opens up by showing Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Dr. Strange all together inside what appears to be an alien mothership. We get that Iron Man and Spider-Man would naturally team up since it was Tony Stark who recruited Peter Parker back during the events of Civil War. We’re just not sure how Dr. Strange figures into the mix since we last saw him in the Thor: Ragnarok movie, where he was discussing precautionary arrangements with The God of Thunder regarding his troublesome brother, Loki. And oh, in case you missed it, both Tony and Peter are rocking their new suits of armor.
Scarlet Witch and Vision
Next up is a scene where the Scarlet Witch seems to be using her powers to do something to the Infinity Stone embedded on Vision’s forehead. She’s probably casting a spell that would help remove it—without killing her partner who has a thing for going through walls, of course. What we know for sure is that Vision and his Mind Stone are going to play an important role in the film since big baddie Thanos is trying to collect the Infinity Stones at all costs.
Thor with the Guardians of the Galaxy
After the events of Thor: Ragnarok, the self-proclaimed strongest Avenger finds himself teaming up with none other than the two-time saviors of the galaxy. We get to see a hilarious trio born with Rocket Raccoon, Teenage Groot, and Thor rocking his eye patch and new hairdo as the Guardians attempt to save the galaxy for a third time.
Captain America’s new shield
You can’t really have an Avengers film without including Captain America and his mighty shield. There’s just one little problem: he doesn’t have one anymore after leaving it with a badly beaten Iron Man during the conclusion of their epic duel in Civil War. It’s a good thing the Black Panther is feeling generous, giving Cap what appears to be a technologically advanced shield that’s also made from Vibranium.
We’ve witnessed it before, but seeing these many superheroes together in one scene is always an amazing sight to behold. The trailer’s last shot basically shows the Winter Soldier, Black Widow, Black Panther, Hulk, War Machine and Falcon all led by Captain America behind what appears to be the Wakandan Army. Of course, Ant-Man might also be there in a shrunken state since he’s always been a part of Team Cap.
