Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, and Ben Kingsley, looks to dominate the box office come its release date.

Based on the popular video game of the same title, the plot follows a street Urchin in the Persian Empire named Dastan. Adopted by the king for his admirable ability in battle, Dastan must collaborate with the uber hot Princess Tamina to prevent a common enemy named Nizam and reclaim an ancient dagger known as "The Dagger of Time".

Directed by Mike Newell and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Prince of Peria will definitely deliver with its promise: plenty of CG sequences and a series of wholesome yet decent action scenes. If the two's known for anything, it's their knack for action-adventure films.

But not all video game movies made in the past are as promising as this film. In fact, most of them have been box office busts and widely panned by critics.
