When you flirt with danger you’re bound to find disaster. By now you’ve all probably heard the buzz about Danny Boyle’s latest film 127 Hours. The movie is based on a true story of hiker Aaron Ralston, whose arm gets pinned between a boulder while trekking through the canyons of Utah.
In the film, Aaron (convincingly played by James Franco, who is nominated for a Best Actor Oscar in this role) braves the harsh elements by staying positive, documenting himself with a camcorder, drinking his piss (We puke!) and ultimately severing his limb in order to survive.
The story at its best is both inspirational and entertaining and got us here at FHM thinking. Man VS. Nature movies aren't made for you to watch while you rifle through a bag of popcorn; they’re also made as a teaching on survival.
We gather 9 movies where there isn’t a killer on the loose or a crazed gunman out for revenge. Enemies come in the form of nature: lava, the weather, mutated animals and even man himself.
