Carrie, horror novelist Stephen King's coming-of-rage (get it?) novel about a sheltered young high school student’s troubles with bullying, adolescence, and the growth of something supernatural within her, is still as timely as it was when it was released in 1974.
Adapted into a film by Scarface director Brian De Palma, starring Sissy Spacek in the titular role, Carrie became a horror icon with its memorable prom-from-hell scene involving pig’s blood and some burning members of the student body.
In case you were wondering how Spacek looked like in the film, here's a screen capture from the original 1974 film:
Fastforward to 2013, and Carrie is brought back to the silver screen--only this time it stars the painstakingly endearing Chloe Grace Moretz (you know her as Hit-Girl from the Kick-Ass movies). Though Moretz does have that eerie, big-eyed, too-pale-for-the-sun look going for her, she isn’t as convincing as the tormented telekinetic that Spacek plays masterfully in the original. To put it bluntly, she’s just too pretty.
Since Sissy Spacek made chicks want to forget their first periods and had high school jocks thinking twice about mocking that homey girl who liked to crochet in class (and since Halloween is creeping near), we decided to pay homage to the original Carrie with a list of creepy girls you wouldn’t want to pick on. If you decide to call these girls names, bruise their self-esteem, and push them to the limit, know that you will pay the price.
