Ever since it was confirmed last year that the Kapamilya actress will star as the new generation’s superheroine, we’ve been on the lookout for snippets of her and the film, including Liza’s intense trainings for the project.
Now, we finally got to see the making—not of Liza’s abs—but of the film itself. In a viral post, a Facebook video showed how the seemingly real effects of the movie were made.
Turns out, the trending clip was cropped from a longer video uploaded by visual effects provider, Mothership, Inc. The four-minute show reel featured a breakdown of some of the most extreme visual effects of films they’ve made—one of which is for Erik Matti’s Darna.
If you remember, this teaser was also shown last 2015 during the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). Mothership, Inc. has also previously provided visual and post-processing effects for other Erik Matti films such as On The Job, Tiktik: Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles, and Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2.
Darna is set to hit theaters this 2018
