One of the most enjoyable elements of Marvel movies is the obligatory Stan Lee cameo. It has become such a staple of the films that fans have become accustomed to preparing themselves for when he pops up, spewing a catchy one-liner in the process. Oh, Stan!
With news of Marvel’s main man being rushed to the ER recently, it only feels right to keep our spirits in check by celebrating Mr. Lee’s fun nature—with those big glasses, bushy beard, and huge smile, he never fails to steal a scene. Below is a quick ranking of some our favorite Stan Lee appearances. Get well soon, sir! Your fandom is here to support you.
10) Hulk (2003)
Dynamic duo! Not only does the creative genius show up dressed as a cop, but he’s also got muscleman Lou Ferrigno right beside him.
9) X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
It seems that Stan Lee has amassed so much wealth that he has enough time to water his shrubs in the middle of an all-out mutant war.
8) Iron Man (2008)
We don’t doubt the fact that Stan Lee knows how to party. He’d probably outlast Tony Stark in a drinking competition.
7) Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)
Time travelling suits Mr. Lee well.
6) The Avengers (2012)
His stint as an irate citizen on the news is easily one of his most memorable. We think he was pissed that Iron Man was getting all the love (again!). Wait for the 2:21 mark when you watch the video above to see what we’re talking about.
5) The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
What’s cuter than an oblivious Stan Lee? The answer: nothing.
4) Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
Rocket Racoon plays witness to Stan’s smooth outer space moves. Lodi!
3) Big Hero 6 (2014)
Yes, Stan Lee is in fact Fred’s dad…in the movie, at least.
2) Avengers Age of Ultron (2015)
Although Thor might not be happy with his actions, drunken Stan Lee in this sequel is probably the best version of the dude. EVER. Cheers!
1) Deadpool (2016)
And last, but not the least, his appearance as a strip club DJ is epic not only because he was totally feeling it (check out those red hot headphones), but also because this is Lee at his most unguarded, unafraid to let loose and let his personality shine through for moviegoers. And yes, there’s also the strippers.
