Rob Schneider will soon be visiting the Philippines for a one-night only stand up comedy show at the Grand Ballroom of Solaire Resort and Casino on October 28, 2013, 8 p.m.!
Now, you might ask: Why is Deuce Bigalow doing a stand-up show? As it turns out, the man that made male gigolos the finely-chiseled butt-of-all-jokes started out as a stand-up comedian. You know, the type that appears in front of a large, live audience with nothing but a mic in hand and a mind full of funny things.
Rob actually began writing jokes as a teenager appearing at local venues in his home city, San Francisco. The comedian (whose maternal grandmother happens to be pure Pinay!) eventually made enough people laugh that he got a slot in HBO’s “13th Annual Young Comedians Special” in 1990, which had him making even more people laugh. And one of them turned out be Lorne Michaels, the producer of that institution of laughter known the world over as Saturday Night Live.
Lorne gave him his first big break, and hired him to be a writer for the show. With his comic skills, he quickly graduated to being a full-time cast member, whereupon he played such classy characters like the one below, “Orgasm Guy”:
