Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, a tale of friendship, gore, and the relentless undead, lurches into cinemas and it is one crazy, fun ride—a reason for fans of the horror-comedy hybrid to crash theaters this week.

If you’re thinking that this is just your garden-variety zombie flick trying to exploit an already-saturated genre, you might be surprised. Scouts Guide actually plays around with the usual zombie-pocalypse conventions and puts a fresh twist on them. Screams of “Ewwwww!” and “Oh shit!” are sure to be thrown around once audiences experience the abundance of mutilated flesh, blood splatters, and inhumane carnage present in the film. Gore maniacs are going to be happy AF!

You can’t have a decent coming of age horror-comedy without some raging hormones. And thankfully, the movie doesn’t scrimp on cleavage courtesy of Sarah Dumont (the world's hottest zombie buster, pictured above) and Halston Sage (the postapocalyptic world's hottest damsel-in-distress, pictured below) There’s even a hilarious scene involving some festering fun-bags. As soon as the movie opens with comedian Blake Anderson (of cult slacker TV series Workaholics) shaking his moneymaker to Iggy Azalea’s “Black Widow,” you know things are about to get piss-your-pants funny. Of course, he becomes zombie chow within minutes, setting the violently fun-tastic tone that doesn’t stop till the end credits.

Pressured by the social trappings of high school, Ben and Carter feel like they need to move on from being scouts. They are afraid to tell their other BFF Auggie in fear of hurting his feelings. Auggie, who recently lost his father, uses the scout club as a way of dealing with the tragedy. The friendship angle among the three major protagonists is handled very delicately. These issues surface in a very natural manner amidst all the chaos and puke-inducing innards. Hey, there’s nothing like a zombie outbreak to test the bonds of friendship, right?

The guitarist from the art-rock outfit provided some of the music for this loud, balls-tastic gorefest. The band's known for their moody trippiness, so it's a surprise to learn that Greenwood scored the flick—a good surprise.

This is not a date movie. This is not a family friendly film. If you’re a bit too PC, there are tons of punch lines that will make you squirm in your seat. Sequences that are overtly sexual and graphic in nature are strung together for a comedic effect that isn’t for the faint of heart. Expect a severed penis, a post-mortem act of fellatio, and an old lady attempting a sadistic rim-job on a minor. You’ve been warned.
