So it's April 20 tomorrow. We suggest you celebrate it with a stoner movie. [firstpara] Some may have been forgotten or just not available from your suking DVD vendor, but the pot, er plot, remains the same: laugh trip, chong.

Thanks to the awesome stoner duo Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong—of Cheech and Chong fame— stoner movies are now revered as cult classics.

The thing with stoner movies is that stoned or no, they make everyday silly stuff freaking hilarious!

In line with the 4/20 theme, we give you, and in no particular order, FHM's Top 4.20 Films of All Time. 4.20? That’s four good-even-without-weed movies plus 20 honorable mentions. Get it? Good. Let’s run them down!

1. Up in Smoke (1978)
What used to be a low budget standup comedy act /joint in the 1970s, pioneered by the legendary stoner duo of Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong, ballooned into a full-blown sub-genre: The stoner movie. This is the godfather and grandfather, of all stoner movies, gentlemen.

It set the template for all stoner movies: two average guys, weed, a weird task that must be done, some form of authoritative figure and shitloads of laughs!

Up in Smoke is about Man Stoner (Tommy Chong), an unemployed drummer that was kicked out of his rich parents’ home; and Pedro de Pacas (Cheech Marin), a Chicano no-good guitar player, who picks up a hitchhiking Man on some highway in California.

The fun begins when the duo drive around Cheech’s low rider with the license plates that read MUF DVR, while they smoke a huge-ass joint the size of—there’s no other way to put it—the size of a burrito.

Up in Smoke is just first of ten stoner films that Cheech and Chong starred in. Today, the two still do joint ventures and tour the States doing standup comedy and hippie-related songs. Not bad for old stoners.

Movie High-light:
Pedro (Cheech): Am I driving okay?
Man Stoner (Chong): [looks around] I think we’re parked, man.
