Deadpool fans are in for a treat—20th Century Fox finally dropped a new trailer for the Merc with a Mouth’s upcoming movie. There’s more action this time around as Deadpool gets to meet Josh Brolin’s Cable in a tense encounter at his apartment. Of course, Ryan Reynolds still perfectly pulls off that wacky humor that has endeared fans to the anti-hero film franchise.
Now that you’ve seen it, let’s start by putting Deadpool’s mini show aside so we can dig a little bit deeper through some of the more important and cooler stuff that you might’ve missed.
“I was born into war, bred into it.” These are the first words from the total badass known as Cable, who’s the main antagonist of the film. He continues with his grim monologue about pain before getting interrupted by Reynolds’ hilarious action figure show. All we can say is he’s sure to give Deadpool (and his twin katanas) a major run for his money with that cybernetic eye and his futuristic arsenal. We also get to see Cable single-handedly beat up what looks like a bunch of special forces soldiers from the DMC, presumably an organization that handles mutant control.
Deadpool pokes fun at Superman
Yes, this is a Marvel film, but that’s not stopping the Merc with a Mouth from making hilarious potshots at superheroes from the other side of the fence. At the 0:32 mark, Reynolds makes a funny reference regarding Henry Cavill’s mustache that had to be removed using CGI for Justice League. “Dale! Why are the visual effects not done? It’s a metal arm! It’s not like we’re trying to remove a mustache.”
Did we just see the X-Force?
We all know that Deadpool is best known as a lone operative who doesn’t really work well with others. Although, he did sort of team up with Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) and the Colossus (Stefan Kapicic) in the first film. Unfortunately, it wasn’t something that was meant to last so it was quite a pleasant surprise to see Deadpool and Domino (Zazie Beetz) together with other interesting individuals at the 1:38 mark. We’re really not sure who that black bald guy and the others are, but our best guess would be that these are members of Cable’s X-Force team.
Dopinder is back
Remember that funny cab driver from the first film? Well, he’s back and we just can’t wait to see what happens when Deadpool dishes out another round of unsolicited advice for the lovelorn Dopinder.
