The trailer starts out with Wade Wilson (Reynolds) witnessing an old man being robbed. He enters a phone booth and puts on his Deadpool costume, which takes a long ass time. By the time he's done, the old man is dead. Deadpool apologizes for taking too long to change, lays down on the old man's body then eats his ice cream.
The Deadpool sequel was officially announced in April 2016. After the sequel's confirmation, it was revealed that the movie may start filming as soon as early this year. At the time, it was rumored the film could be targeting an October 2017 or January 2018 release.
Thanks to intense Internet sleuthing, here’s what we know so far:
1) David Leitch replaces Tim Miller as director
Leitch, one half of the team behind balletic gun-fu John Wick, takes over directorial duties from Deadpool original Tim Miller, who had left after a reported "creative difference" with Reynolds.
2) Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are still the screenwriters
Reese and Wernick, who wrote the first movie, are working on the sequel's script.
3) Cable "might" make an appearance
After seeing the post-credits from the first movie we know that we will be seeing Cable, a powerful mutant from the future who also happens to be Cyclops' son. Who’s playing him? We don’t know yet. But there’s a very interesting Twitter exchange between Deadpool creator Rob Liefield and actor Russel Crowe that you might want to check out:
The great Maximus Decimus Meridius as Cable? Hell yeah!
4) Domino might be there, too
Since Cable is present, fans will probably be seeing Neena Thurman, better known as Domino, in the movie as well. Domino is popular for having a romantic relationship with confidante and X-Force member, Cable.
5) Storylines are still up in the air
One of the biggest theories right now is that the movie will be based around the superhero team, X-Force. Another theory out there is that the creative team could go with the Cable & Deadpool approach, which features the Merc With The Mouth teaming up with the futuristic badass.
6) The first poster
Uhm… or not.
