Transformers: Dark of the Moon opened in local cinemas yesterday, June 29. A single sentence review: The third installment of director Michael Bay’s adaptation of the alien-robot franchise is hardly impressive.
Yes, the explosions and robo-violence was in abundance. Yes, attempts at humor were slipped in there. Yes, Megan Fox is nowhere to be seen; in lieu of the Fox is a British Victoria’s Secret model named Rosie Huntington-Whitely.
Yes, it was better than the second, but not the first. Yes, visual effects assaulted the senses, but a weak plot conked things out early on.
Because director Michael Bay likes to play God, sticking to his guns and doing what he does best (blow shit up), we decided to stick to our strengths as well: The ladies.
Transformers caters to the latent male adolescent in all of us, the eye candy in all three films is nothing short of stimulating. Instead of lambasting the film, here, we pit Fox against Transformers newbie-muse Rosie and see who comes out on top.
The Winner: Megan Fox comes out on top in 3 out of 6 categories; Rosie, just in 2 (granted the hotness factor was a tie). It just so happens that the Fox made her presence in the films more felt–enough to get her kicked-off the third one. There’s no losing with either gir, thoughl. In the end they’ve both got chops to serve up and we here (and we’re sure you’ll all agree) are willing to lick the plate clean.
