At first, the world was all like, "Whoa, Batman V Superman! It's savage AF," when the film premiered. Eventually, more people got to see it, and they were all like, "Hmmm, this isn't too good." Down the line, people thought, "Hey, don't be too harsh on it; it's still entertaining, right?"
With all the people chiming in with their opinions, only one thing is for sure: Pretty much everyone has seen it.
And it's not the last DC film we'll be seeing in the coming years. For better of worse, BvS is just the beginning. It has opened the DC floodgates to give way for these movies below, listed according to release date:
Suicide Squad - Aug. 5, 2016
The Joker teams up with Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Killer Croc, and a host of DC's worst-behaving residents to complete a mission for the government, and defeat an enigmatic enemy. They're good enough to succeed, but if they fail? Well, no one's going to feel bad for them because they're the bad guys anyway.
Wonder Woman - June 23, 2017
Gal Gadot as the Amazonian superheroine was one of the bright things that BvS had going for it. Next year, the warrior queen will have her own movie, which explores her originis, her rise to power as a warrior, and her eventual quest to help in the follies of men.
Justice League - Part One - Nov. 17, 2017
The DC version of The Avengers, Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Cyborg, The Flash, and Aquaman go at it to save the world from Darkseid, a galactic dictator bent on enslaving the world. No Green Lantern in this one though. They're saving him up for the eventual sequel.
The Flash – March 16, 2018
Details have yet to surface but the film will most likely focus on how Barry Allen can break the laws of physics with his body, and run really, really, REALLY fast.
Aquaman - July 27, 2018
Jason Momoa, the guy who once played the leader of the fierce but water-fearing Dothraki clan on Game of Thrones, is now set to play DC's king of the seas. Will the fearsome actor bring respectability to a character that's been constantly mocked by the Internet?
Shazam! – April 5, 2019
Sha-what? The powerful magic user who's known only to a more hardcore set of DC fans will also have his own movie. Or will he? Details have also been sparce for this 2019 flick, and some are reporting that it might not even come to fruition. One kind of sure thing? Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson will be starring as the main enemy, Black Adam.
Justice League - Part Two – June 14, 2019
DC's most iconic heroes will band together again after saving the world in the first JL movie. From what? Well, we'll have to wait for the first movie first to show.
Cyborg – April 3, 2020
This robotic hero from DC will have his own starring role, too. Since it'll be the first movie, it will most likely track the mech-man's evolution from football star to superhero.
Green Lantern Corps - June 19, 2020
Green Lantern has an entire squad of green-colored good guys. But you probably know that already. What we don't know is which Green Lantern they'll flesh out in this movie. Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Guy Gardner or Kyle Rayner? We'll know when the movie nears its filming date.
Untitled Batman Project — Date TBD
Yup, in spite of that Sad Ben Affleck viral video above, there's still a Batman movie that's coming out in the future. Of course, much could happen in the span of four years, so don't be surprised if DC decides to switch it up in the interim.
