The latest X-Men movie, X-Men: Days Of Future Past, combines two of our favorite things together: cool mutants and...time travel.
Days Of Future Past will feature the mutants we've grown to love or hate (depending on your beliefs and philosophies on mutant-human coexistence) in a time-traveling adventure where their future selves must travel back to the past and change a number of really, really important events. Or else.
The movie is said to be a sequel to both 2011's X-Men: First Class and 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand, which was the capper to the original X-Men trilogy. Hence, we get to see the Jennifer Lawrence-version of the blue-skinned Mystique share some screentime with the not-always-sunny Storm as played by the still-scorching Halle Berry when the movie opens in late May.
A few teasers has already been released showcasing the kind of action we all want from our superheroes, but their latest one is the most innovative. Called "25 Moments," the teaser features clippings or photos of old, historical events—only this time, they're altered by the presence of mutants. It's revisionist history, X-Men style.
A website has also been released along with the clip, which features a photo timeline of events like the Cuban Missile Crisis, the JFK assassination and Occupy Wall Street—all with a dash of mutant mayhem. The campaign nicely illustrates the concept of the whole "going back to the past to change the past" business of the movie.
But enough talk; check out the clip and the photos below!
