To all the folks who felt disappointed watching the censored version of the cinematic screening of Fifty Shades Of Grey, you’ll find yourselves fulfilled in the outlandish stage show called 50 Shades! The Musical Parody.

FHM, along with other members of the press were given a chance to see the play a few weeks ago. The play started its run last February 16 and will last until March 20 at the RCBC Plaza in Makati.

Just like the film, this parody traces the tale of domination and liberation as seen through the eyes of the virgin Anastasia, and the rich and sadist Grey...albeit in a much, much funnier light. It pokes fun at how humorlessly the book and the film handle things like sex, obsession, and BDSM.

Here are a couple of reasons why we liked it, and why we think it's an entertaining piece of work:

1) You don’t have to read the book

...or watch the movie adaptation so you can relate to what's happening onstage. Even if you are completely clueless about the original piece, the play is just so funny you'll have a good time throughout it.

2) There’s no room for censors

No kill joy MTRCB. No R-18 ratings. No blurred parts even if the play consists of sexy scenes and sexual language. One of the best parts was when characters Katherine Kavanagh and Elliot Grey went down on stage and simulated sex right in front of the audience. It tests your ability to act normal while watching a scene that's supposedly private.

3) It’s lyrically humorous

The play adds humorous ballads to the fray. An example? Ana sings that something’s missing in her life. The lyrics leave nothing to the imagination: “There’s a hole inside of me that I need to fill. A yearning down there. A screw that needs to be drilled.” Fantastic writing.

4) It's a date!

This weekend, don't watch a movie. See a play. If you're going to see one, let it be this. It will tickle your funny bones and probably give you a boner too.

5) There’s a super sexy cast

So there’s this woman who caught our eyes during the entire play because of her great voice, dancing skills, and, erm, curves. She goes by the name Casey Reene Rogers. Here’s what she’d be wearing during the play:

6) It stars the very beautiful FHM Cover Girl Karel Marquez

Who wouldn’t want to see this hot momma play Anastasia Steele?
