A reunion might be unlikely, but a musical featuring the songs of the Eraserheads is well on its way.

In line with its advocacy to "promote Filipino performing arts a step further," Resorts World Manila (RWM) is presenting an all-Filipino theatrical milestone that carries the same title as the band's most iconic song. The musical is slated for a debut in August.

Ang Huling El Bimbo, to be headed by stage director Dexter Santos, will "celebrate the songs of one of the country’s most influential rock bands of all-time."

Talented fans can actually be part of the production, with auditions for supporting and ensemble roles scheduled for January 26 and 27, 3 to 8 p.m. at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. Male and female aspirants, aged 20 to 50 years old, must bring their résumés with two photos (head shot and half body), and a minus one of a Filipino pop rock song.

RWM even posted the invitation on their official Facebook page:

A 10-day cast workshop will be held on June 11, with rehearsals happening June 25 onwards.
