Three of the famed Eraserheads—Ely Buendia, Raimund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala—got together on Sunday, January 31 to perform for a cause.
Dubbed #SubterraniaSessions, Route 196 in Katipunan Ave. hosted a fundraising event for writer Luis Joaquin M. Katigbak, who has been hospitalized since December. And the E-heads members, with guitar virtuoso Nitoy Adriano, were among the artists who performed.
The reunion happened a couple of weeks after all members of the Eraserheads (including Marcus Adoro) were spotted HOHOL-ing at Spin Cafe in Parañaque.
Aside from gracing the benefit gig, Ely also stayed true to his word about a David Bowie tribute, opening their set with covers of "Ziggy Stardust," "Starman," "Space Oddity," and "Life On Mars."
Although you have to admit, those who paid a thousand bucks to see the three were really looking forward to seeing some Eraserheads classics performed live. And just like a sweet answered prayer, fans were taken to a nostalgia fest with "Minsan" and "Ang Huling El Bimbo."
Occasional 'Heads gigs? Yeah, we can live with that!
