Covering the first ever Manila Music Festival was not an easy feat: balancing the tasks of a responsible journalist and still rocking out was almost impossible. “Almost” being the operative word.
Just like any other regular music festival, there were musical performances left and right. At the far right was the "DJ stage," where people danced. At the main stage where foreign headliners Afrika Bambaataa, Shinichi Osawa, and Ali Shaheed Muhammad played along with local acts both old and new. Heads bobbed. We also found ourselves surrounded by fresh-faced cuties in booty shorts and bikini tops, and booze everywhere. Yeah, we know, sounds difficult, huh?
Despite these things, eight acts caught our attention. From local to foreign, each of them imbued the audience with their signature style and talent. And if memory serves us right, the Manila Music Festival was an event that will most definitely be remembered. Check out the gallery below!
