Pop-rock favorites re-emerge in grand fashion

Fresh from that man drama that happened a few years back, highlighted by a year-and-a-half hiatus, we can safely say that The Killers are back. And with their return comes their most robust album to date. It’s ambitious, thematic, mature, and out for revenge. Filled with sweeping choruses and fist-in-the-air moments, The Killers reincarnation in Battle Born can sit comfortably beside the '80s polyphonic wonders of Eurythmics, Duran Duran or Bruce Springsteen.

From the guys who burst into the scene with “Somebody Told Me” and “Mister Brightside,” this 15 track album is lush with New Wave elements, lyrical playfulness with a tendency to attempt depth, and soundscapes designed to fill an arena. The Killers we hear in this record have completely gotten out of the post-punk dance vehicle the band rode in their debut endeavor. It’s appropriate, really, how the title, Battle Born, is. It's like an announcement that the band has survived the worst challenges, and re-emerged on a mission to reawaken as a giant in the pop-alternative scene once more.
