Before you buy that expensive AF ticket for a foreign artist’s concert in the Philippines, why not save that money and support local music instead?

The annual Rakrakan Festival is back once again and it's set to be the biggest locally-produced music fest ever. With 120 bands and 6 stages (there were only 100 bands and 5 stages last year), Rakrakan Festival aims to create and leave an unforgettable OPM legacy.

“Rakrakan Festival was born out of our desire to create the largest OPM gathering in the country,” explains Rakista Radio’s Chelsea Gloria. “We do this to honor and celebrate our music, talents, and culture and attempt to bring it to an international level.”

The concert will be held at the Aseana City Concert Grounds next month, February 24, from 2 PM to 3 AM the next day. This year’s theme is “Rakrakan Festival: Pinoy Muna!”

Taking inspiration from globally-renowned music festivals such as Warped Tour and Woodstock, this yearly festival gathers the country’s finest musicians and music lovers all in one venue.

Aside from promoting local acts, attendees will also witness street art, skateboarding, a BMX competition, and other exciting activities.

Ninety-five out of 120 artists have already been revealed to be part of this year’s line-up. Included are favorites Ely Buendia, Silent Sanctuary, Orange & Lemons, Slapshock, Urbandub,  Itchyworms, Kjwan, Typecast, Philia, Soapdish, Sponge Cola, Willabaliw, and more.
