Sugarfree Returns...As A Musical!
Contemporary Pinoy rock musical to feature Sugarfree's heartbreaking hits

Relationships can be a bitch. They can also be gateways to endless possibilities. That is the premise that gives buoyancy to Sa Wakas, a musical that dudes who are conditioned to hate on Glee might just want to watch.

We say so because of this reason: Sa Wakas is a musical that features Sugarfree songs exclusively. For fans still mourning the band's breakup in 2011, this here is a rare chance to witness the nostalgic and heart-gripping songs composed by the iconic band again--albeit on a different platform: musical theater.  Now before you picture rambunctious production numbers and jazzy choreography, Sa Wakas reflects a more subtle and realistic approach.

Told in a non-conventional fashion (the narrative flows from end to beginning), Sa Wakas dives down a path tracing  the breakdown of a relationship and the blossoming of a new one--staying true to its musical inspiration. The intimate show is described to be culturally accurate and relentless in its tagos sa puso moments.  You can read the official synopsis here at the Sa Wakas official website.

You can also check out a music video of "Bawat Daan" performed by ex-Sugarfree vocalist Ebe Dancel and the cast of Sa Wakas here: http://vimeo.com/62590605.

Co-Writer/Director Andrei Pamintuan tells us more about his experience on the play.
