We'd like to apologize; we forgot to add something to our recent feature on ways to cope with a high-stress workplace: Listen to music.

But not just any kind of music (punk rock and death metal are no-nos for obvious reasons). We're talking about the chill kind, tunes that can calm you down and replace your bad thoughts with images of serenity and relaxation. And when it comes to relaxing songs, nothing is more chill than "Weightless" by British band Marconi Union. It's been declared by scientists as the most relaxing song ever recorded!

The song was actually created by Marconi Union in collaboration with Lyz Cooper, founder of the British Academy of Sound Therapy. The eight-minute track makes use of specific tones and frequencies to relax the listener as well as a sustaining 60-beats-per-minute (Bpm) rhythm that gradually goes down to around 50. This combination soothes the senses and slows down the heart rate to 50Bpm

Sound therapists played the song to 40 women and found out that it's the most effective in making them relax—more effective than songs from Enya, Mozart, and Coldplay.
