The great thing about being a brand that has existed for 17 years and counting is that you’ve done a ton of features and articles about almost every aspect of pop culture. Having done so means that FHM has amassed a well of photos over the years, many of which have been used to tell stories in both the print and online medium. Digging through our archives is like travelling back in time—silly antics, kooky outfits, and unforgettable memories (the moments we weren’t too drunk to function, at least) bubbling to the surface and inducing nostalgia.
Rizal Underground posing like nobody's business
Imagine our surprise when we stumbled upon these pictures of some of your favorite rockers, which were originally published in our March 2011 anniversary issue featuring the gorgeous (and then-single) Solenn Heussaff-Bolzico. Used for a story that meditated on the quieting down of the OPM rock scene and the closing of popular radio station NU 107, these are images that immortalize a bygone era of Pinoy rock and roll. A time when grunge was taking over the international airwaves and a new breed of alternative rock was making its presence felt.
Scroll through this series and see for yourself. Just don’t mind the ultra-baggy pants and embarrassing hairstyles, dude.
