Standing at a towering 6-foot-11, Kai is currently undergoing a rigorous two-week training at the prestigious Impact Basketball camp in Las Vegas, ABS-CBN News reports.
“Sobrang blessed ko at tsaka sobrang saya ko na mag-practice dito sa Impact lalo na mga kasabay ko yung mga magpapa-draft na sa NBA kaya sabi ko isang magandang experience ito para sa akin,” he said.
Despite the bright basketball career ahead of him, the Batang Gilas player is still keeping it real as he expressed his desire to keep improving his talents.
“Sa lahat siyempre advantage yung height. Siyempre kasi hindi matuturo yung height di ba? Kaya para sa akin kung nakuha ko na yung height, papaghirapan ko pa makuha yung skills para mas may advantage pa lalo,” he said.
Kai also recently won the Rookie of the Year award while playing for the Ateneo Blue Eaglets in the UAAP juniors league.
So is he the future of Philippine basketball? Only time will tell. For now, you can check out Kai’s moves during the recently concluded SEABA Under-16 tournament, where we took home the gold.
