Y'all must have heard the names of Ronda Rousey and Liz Carmouche in some capacity over the last couple of weeks—they will be making history this Sunday by being the first female fighters to ever compete in the UFC Octagon. Rousey, in particular, is the first ever UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion, and is currently riding high as the new face of women's mixed martial arts (Translation: She's pretty!). So yes, we're gonna be tuned in for that one.

After Sunday's UFC 157, you're all gonna wanna know more about the top female fighters in the sport, primarily because Ronda's bound to face some of these ladies in the future—yeah, we're rooting for Rousey! So go and check out Sarah Kaufman, Alexis Davis, and three other bad-ass chicks of women's MMA!

Sarah Kaufman

Record: 15-2
Sarah is currently ranked as the #3 female fighter in the pound for pound global rankings, and is the first person to ever hold the Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Championship way back in 2010. Kaufman finished her first eight fights via TKO, and holds victories over equally-scary chicks Alexis Davis, Takayo Hashi, and Liz Carmouche.

Superwoman moment: At Strikeforce Challengers: del Rosario vs. Mahe, then-champion Kaufman channeled her inner Rampage Jackson and defended Roxanne Modafferi’s armbar by body slamming her into the canvass en route to a KO victory in the third round. To her defense, Modafferi looked a lot better asleep than Ricardo Arona ever did.
